Thank you for the link Johan, Appreciate it! So this was a armour regiment. How easy was it in the 1980's to transfer between regiments? Lets say from this armour regiment to other regiments? I (unfortunately?) missed compulsory army training. Thats why I ask all the stupid questions. Do also perhaps know what regiment had purple uniforms?

Thats it!
PLEASE PLEASE forgive me, again the age played it's mistakes on me! It is NOT 14 Light Regiment (Which was in fact fact an "berede" horseback regiment according to Wikipedia! I was in fact in 18 Light Artillery Regiment . To all those feeling offended, I sincerely apologize. All this info also available on Wikipedia. Most interesting reading material... Hope we hear more from other 18 Lights!
Hi, I was in 44 Parachute Brigade and was in 14 Light Artillery Regiment. We were rather VERY active outside Cuito, laying no more than 1500m from the town, doing daily bombing of the town with our 120mm mortars. We saw some extreme action and was under fire daily, as well. I will forward the 44 Para badge to you shortly. Just by accident I found your site, great site, just sorry that thus far it seems the mortars got no mention in their part... Kind regards Deon
